Regional Playoffs Recap

Last weekend was another incredible showcase of the Rocket League Championship Series, as we saw eight teams vying for the remaining four spots leading up to the Regional Championship this coming weekend (December 12-13). The players left everything on the field in two days of intense match-ups. If you missed the action, here's how it all played out:

North America

Saturday's broadcast began with Genesis (3) taking on Revival (6) in a rematch from the first week of the regular season. Despite several weeks of practice, the outcome of the match would be similar with Genesis sweeping Revival to take a decisive 3-0 victory.

The next match-up saw Take 3(4) face-off against Vendetta (5) in a series many predicted would be close. The players would not disappoint the fans and took the series all the way to game five, with Vendetta taking the series 3-2.

In the Lower Bracket, Revival and Take 3 met in the first elimination match of the day. With everything on the line, Take 3 would seize the series 3-1 to stay alive. Unfortunately, that would be the end of the road for Revival who played a phenomenal season of Rocket League.

In the Upper Bracket, Genesis and Vendetta met in the first qualification match. The series would go to Game Five with Genesis taking the win and clinching their spot in the Grand Finals.

Vendetta would fall into the lower bracket to face Take 3 in the Lower Bracket Finals, for one last shot at advancing. Vendetta played hard, but Take 3 would not be denied as they took the series 3-2 and clinched their spot in the Championship. GGs to the incredibly deep roster of Vendetta; we hope to see them return in Season 3.

Europe

On the other side of the Atlantic, our first match pitted the unstoppable Mockit Aces(3) against fan-favorite Reunited(6). Mockit come out of the gate strong and beat Reunited in Game Four, taking the series 3-1.

Up next, Precision Z(4) would face Red Eye(5) in a rematch from the regular season that went in favor of Precision Z. Hoping for a different outcome, Red Eye played fiercely, but would once again fall to Precision Z

In the Lower Bracket, Reunited and Red Eye would meet in the first elimination series for Europe. In a repeat from the regular season Red Eye would beat Reunited in game five to take the series 3-2 advancing to the Lower Bracket Finals and ending Reunited’s season. GGs to the Reunited team.

In the Winner's Bracket Finals, Mockit Aces would meet Precision Z in a match-up many believed favored the Aces. In perhaps the greatest upset of the day, Precision Z would take the series 3-1 and punch their ticket to the Championship.

Mockit Aces would fall into the Lower Bracket Finals, where they would have one more chance to clinch their spot against Red Eye. This time around, Mockit would not be denied. They would take the series 3-1 over Red Eye and secure the last remaining spot in the Regional Championship! Well played by Red Eye, good luck next season!

With our top-four teams from both North America and Europe secure, we're looking forward to this weekend's Regional Championships where teams will be competing for seeding in the Grand Finals, a cut of a $50,000 prize pool, and the title of greatest Rocket League teams in their respective region.
